Mets finally call up Michael Conforto

Happy Conforto Day!

The Mets called up top hitting prospect Michael Conforto in time for Friday night’s game against the Dodgers and placed Michael Cuddyer on the disabled list, the team announced.

Conforto, the 2014 first-round pick, had been with the Mets’ Double-A affiliate in Trenton. The left fielder was hitting .312 with a .396 on-base percentage for the B-Mets.

Cuddyer, 36, has been hobbled by a sore knee, which failed to respond to repeated doses of anti-inflammatory medication.
