Mets Fans Ready To Wear Their Pride As NLCS & World Series Gear Goes On Sale

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The Mets are headed to the World Series for the first time in 15 years and that means die-hard fans are already hitting the stores where championship gear went on sale early Thursday morning.

World Series fever started at 6 a.m. at the Modell’s in Times Square. After Wednesday night’s big win against the Chicago Cubs, the store put out National League Champion and World Series shirts, hats, pennants and more.

Some fans showed up early to be the first in line.

“Got this for my son, a Mets shirt and I’m going to try to pick up the same thing for myself, maybe a hoodie,” one fan told CBS2’s Scott Rapoport.
