NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — For the first time in a long time the Subway Series really means something.
Citi Field is expecting capacity crowds all weekend, starting Friday night, and why not? The postseason is just a few weeks away and the Yankees and Mets both want to be playing in October, CBS2’s Andrea Grymes reported.
The “Battle of the Boroughs” is set to begin with more than just bragging rights on the line. It’s a rare Subway Series late in the regular season — with playoff hopes on the horizon for both teams.
“They’ve been the ‘Amazin’ Mets’ like they used to be, so it should be a great game,” said Mets fan John Ashford of Harlem.
