Despite the SNY booth spending much of the first inning pointing out how historically bad the Miami Marlins are when a lefty pitches against them, the Mets fell to the Marlins 6-4 on a night when they had a lefty on the mound.
Sean Manaea was not sharp, yielding a pair of runs in both the second and third innings. Things could have been even worse for Manaea if not for some strong defense behind him, including a leaping grap over the right field wall by Jeff McNeil in the first inning that robbed Bryan De La Cruz of a home run.
