Mets expect to again skip Jacob deGrom, meaning DL stint likely

CLEVELAND -- New York Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom threw a light bullpen session Friday in Florida. However, team personnel now believe he does not have enough time to ramp up and take his next turn in the rotation on Tuesday in Philadelphia. As a result, deGrom likely is headed to the disabled list this weekend.

Because deGrom has not pitched since the April 8 home opener, his DL stint could be backdated and he would be eligible to be activated in time for his following turn, after Logan Verrett fills in against the Phillies.
