Travis d’Arnaud’s comeback tour is underway.
The Mets catcher caught five innings Tuesday in an extended spring training game in Port St. Lucie and went 1-for-3 at the plate in his first game activity since breaking his right pinkie on April 19.
D’Arnaud’s return to the Mets is expected to come on the team’s next road trip, which begins Monday in San Diego. Once d’Arnaud is activated, Kevin Plawecki will likely return to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Plawecki was back in the lineup Tuesday for the Mets’ 5-4, 10-inning win over the Phillies after spending the previous two games on the bench.
