Mets RHP Seth Lugo struck out eight batters in six scoreless innings in Sunday's 2-0 win against the Yankees.
Lugo (2-1) retired the last 13 batters he faced, giving up two hits and extending his scoreless innings streak to 13 innings.
Manager Mickey Callaway said Lugo, who made 18 starts a season ago but started just for the second time in 23 appearances this season, is "making a case" to enter in the rotation.
"He's really good," Callaway told reporters. "Yeah, it makes you second-guess. ... He's making a case for himself and we have a tough decision to make, and that's always a good thing.
