The Mets had an early afternoon game against Miami on Sunday. They had won the first two against the Marlins, and Paul Blackburn was looking to redeem himself after a poor showing against the A’s in his last game. It was, however, a Mets game against the Marlins, which means there’s a high likelihood of it being weird and/or annoying.
Blackburn started off the day with a quiet inning, giving up a two-out single to Jonah Bride but stranding him without Bride getting any further. The bottom of the inning was a little more eventful. Lindor flied out for the first out but a Mark Vientos single and Brandon Nimmo walk put two runners on.
