Mets drop both games of doubleheader to Dodgers

The Mets played two games against the Dodgers on Tuesday and lost each one in a particularly deflating fashion, and as a result, their record on the season is now 22-32.

In the first game of the straight doubleheader, the Mets led the vast majority of the way, coughed up the lead in the late innings, went to extras, and—as has often been the case this year—gave up several runs in the top of the tenth before failing to score even the free runner in the bottom. They lost that one 5-2 in the end, wasting an excellent start from Tylor Megill in the process.
