The Mets and Dodgers did their part in contributing to a historical day in Major League Baseball.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the 21 homers hit in Monday’s four playoff games were a postseason record. Yoenis Cespedes and Travis d’Arnaud both homered for the Mets in their 13-7 victory in Game 3 of the NLDS and Howie Kendrick went deep for the Dodgers.
The previous record for homers in one day in the postseason was 15, set on Oct. 3, 1995.
“It’s really cool to see,” d’Arnaud said. “It’s good for the fanbase, get more people in the stands.
