The Mets have placed Michael Cuddyer on the 15 day disabled list due to a left knee injury and have called up Michael Conforto from Double-A Binghamton.
Cuddyer, who has started just six games this month and has been on the bench all week due to his injury, had started to feel worse as the week went on despite taking new medicine.
While talking to reporters on Thursday, Sandy Alderson alluded to the fact that Cuddyer would likely land on the disabled list but said calling up a player from Double-A wasn’t his preference.
Conforto, who was with Binghamton in Trenton, where they’re playing the Thunder, will be active for Friday’s game against the Dodgers.
