That’s right! Former Mets pitcher Dillon Gee has signed a 1-year $1.06 million dollar contract with the Chunichi Dragons.
There was a time, many moons ago, (2011) where I thought Gee would be one of the next big things. He arrived on the scene just two years before Matt Harvey, and my first thought was, “Yes! This is the wave of pitching talent that’s going to start coming up for the Mets!” If you could imagine, back then I was actually excited when it was Gee’s day to pitch. I don’t know if anyone else was, but I’d make sure I was front and center watching the TV on those nights.
