Dillon Gee had a rough day at Citi Field Sunday, allowing eight runs in three innings.
Monday, things got worse.
Two sources confirmed that the Mets have designated Gee for assignment, one day after his return from the Bereavement List and a disastrous spot start at Citi Field.
Gee surrendered eight runs in 3 2/3 innings on Sunday before the Mets rallied to a 10-8 win over the Braves.
The righthander was the odd-man out after the team's brief experiment with a six-man rotation. Gee also struggled in his lone appearance out of the bullpen last Tuesday.
