The New York Mets have designated outfielder Kevin Kaczmarski for assignment in order to make room on the 40-man roster for reliever Bobby Wahl, who was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas earlier today. Wahl had been in Vegas after being traded to the Mets as part of the Jeurys Familia deal with the Oakland Athletics. Kaczmarski is now subject to the irrevocable waivers process.
Drafted by the Mets in the ninth round of the 2015 draft, Kaczmarski had a brief cup of coffee in the majors this season. He was called up on June 22 and was with the team for a few weeks before being optioned back to Las Vegas on July 11.
