Mets' deGrom finally receives run support, ends winless drought

Mets' RHP Jacob deGrom won his first game since May 18 by striking out seven batters in eight strong innings in Monday's 12-2 win against the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

DeGrom (5-2) allowed two runs (one earned) and five hits as he threw at least seven innings for the seventh consecutive start.

In deGrom's five-start winless streak, he recorded a 1.25 ERA and had 44 strikeouts in 36 innings, giving up six runs (five earned) in that span. However, the Mets scored more than one run just once in those starts.

New York got out to a 2-0 lead on a Brandon Nimmo inside-the-park homer and a Jose Bautista RBI groundout.
