Mets Daily Prospect Report, 9/7/24: Exciting stuff in Brooklyn

SYRACUSE 11, SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 8 (BOX)

After being down 8-0 early, Syracuse exploded for nine runs in the fifth inning and made that lead stand up against the RailRiders. Three Mets homered in the outburst, including Drew Gilbert who launched his eighth homer on the season. After looking pretty punchless in his initial return from a length absence due to a hamstring injury, Gilbert has now homered seven times in his last 15 games. He’s batting under .200 in that stretch, but his BABIP is a paltry .125 - look past that flukey characteristic and Gilbert has been fantastic.
