Mets Daily Prospect Report, 8/2/24: Shortening games like it’s going out of style

COLUMBUS 6, SYRACUSE 5 / 8 (BOX)

Syracuse had a weird day at the office. Firstly, about an hour before gametime, Luisangel Acuña was scratched with a sore foot, and then the weather forced them to play a eight inning affair.

The Mets led after one, scoring two on a Luke Ritter double. Dom Hamel really struggled though, and gave it back, surrendering three runs in the second. A run scored in the third as well, but it was on a throwing error by Matt O’Neill, which is hardly Hamel’s doing.
