Las Vegas’s 9th inning rally fell short in a 5-4 loss to Salt Lake. Cody Martin was boxed around for seven hits and four runs in 4.2 innings, and Matt Purke allowed another run in the sixth that proved to be the game decider. Phillip Evans led the offense with two singles, an RBI and a steal, while Jeff McNeil (only a second baseman, but playing third base) went 1-for-4 with a walk. Peter Alonso continued to struggle, dropping his average to .174 with an 0-for-4 performance.

The Rumble Ponies managed only two hits in their first game of the day, falling 1-0 to the Sea Dogs.
