The middle infield carried the St. Lucie Mets in a 5-1 win over Charlotte. Luis Carpio and Andres Gimenez combined to go 7-for-10, with Gimenez falling a home run short of the cycle. Joe Cavallaro was impressive on the mound as well, tossing six scoreless innings and striking out six. The only Charlotte run scored in the seventh against Thomas McIlraith, who went 2.2 innings and and allowed just the one run despite giving up six hits and two walks.
