The Mets bats were silent for the vast majority of this game, putting just one run on the board through the first seven innings, by way of a Rajai Davis sacrifice fly. They put on three runs in the eighth however, turning a 3-1 deficit into a 4-3 lead. Dilson Herrera started the scoring that inning with a ground-rule double, and Rene Rivera put them in the lead for good with a two run single.
The pitching was mostly solid, as Ervin Santana got through five innings with three runs, and the bullpen was nearly perfect to keep the game close, and eventually finish the game off.
