Triple-A: Syracuse Mets (1-2)
SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 17, SYRACUSE 11 (BOX)
It’s been a while, so let me remind you if you’ve forgotten: In 2019, the International League introduced a new ball that substantially increased offense. Clearly, the Triple-A East Northeast is using those same balls, because Syracuse and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre combined for 28 runs on 25 hits. Despite the high number of runs being scored, the game was actually a close one early on. In the fifth, the RailRiders scored three runs to tie things up at 5-5, but that tie would not last long as Syracuse plated four in the bottom of the inning to take the lead.
