Franklyn Kilome did not look sharp at all, giving up six runs in five-plus innings, but even if he were pitching like Jacob deGrom, it wouldn’t have mattered much because the Syracuse offense was hitting like Jacob deGrom was actually pitching. Sebastian Elizalde led off the game with a single, but Syracuse wouldn’t log another hit after that until the fourth and wouldn’t actually score a run until the sixth.
