The Syracuse Mets took an early lead when Gregor Blanco hit a solo shot to lead off the bottom of the first. Armed with a thin 1-0 lead, the Syracuse pitching staff pitched marvelously. Drew Gagnon pitched extremely well in his first start since being optioned back to Syracuse on Friday. Gagnon struck out six in seven scoreless innings, and Arquimedes Caminero and Ryan O’Rourke combined to contribute two scoreless innings of relief. The Syracuse Mets added an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth on a throwing error from Buffalo’s Andrew Guillotte, and ultimately defeated the Buffalo Bisons 2-0.
