Mets Daily Prospect Report, 4/02/25: Syracuse has an April Fools Day for the ages!

SCRANTON/WILKES-BARRE 6, SYRACUSE 2 (BOX)

Syracuse dropped the first game of their series against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders, blowing an early lead and failing to come back. Down in the bottom of the third by a run, Jakson Reetz and Donovan Walton both drove in a run apiece to give Syracuse the lead, but southpaw Brandon “Not Rube” Waddell immediately gave it back, allowing a run in the fourth. Grant Hartwig gave up a pair of runs in the fifth to put Syracuse behind the eight ball, and they ended up getting blanked by the RailRider bullpen, managing a single hit and a single walk from the fifth inning on.
