The Mets have claimed catcher Chance Sisco off waivers from the Orioles, the team announced this afternoon. Sisco was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse. In order to make space on the 40-man roster for Sisco, the Mets transferred J.D. Davis to the 60-day injured list. This is not necessarily a change regarding Davis’ timeline to return; he will be eligible to come off the 60-day IL on July 1, which is likely before the time he would return anyway.
Sisco holds a .199/.319/.339 batting line with an 85 wRC+ lifetime in his five-year major league career in Baltimore.
