PHILADELPHIA — He missed the victories, of course, because that is why David Wright signed on: for the promise of a successful Mets team to go with his $138 million contract. But Wright is also the Mets’ captain, so it was not just the winning he missed these last four months.
“It was some of the bad times, too,” Wright said. “You spend so much time with these guys, you want to be there to pat somebody on the back, or if somebody needs to vent.”
There has been far less angst than usual this season.
