The good news for the Mets is that Kyle Hendricks is not Jake Arrieta or Jon Lester.
The bad news is that he’s not Brett Anderson either.
Hendricks may not be well-known to Mets fans, but he’s been an effective starter for the Cubs in 2015, posting a better FIP (3.36), H/9 (8.3) and SO/9 (8.4) than Anderson, according to baseball-reference.com.
The first clue that Hendricks is not like the Cubs’ frontline starters will be the radar gun.
