Mets can’t catch the Nationals with an offense this bad

No hitting. No chance. No matter who is on the mound for the Mets.

Here is the problem for the Mets: Don’t expect David Wright to come back this season or the Nationals to come back to earth in the NL East like they did last year. And Yoenis Cespedes can’t do it alone.

Right now the offense is as bad as the 2015 pre-Cespedes offense. This is Panic City all over again as the Mets were silenced 4-0 at Citi Field Tuesday night by Pirates rookie right-hander Jameson Taillon, who was making his second major league start.
