Despite not playing a sharp game during the World Series opener on Tuesday night, the Mets were in position to win. Instead, two late leads were blown and the game turned into a 14-inning marathon with an agonizing result. On Wednesday night, though, the Mets can even the series while stealing home field advantage in the process.
Heading into the World Series, there weren’t many who thought the Mets would win the first two games in Kansas City. The hope was that they would earn a split. Winning on Wednesday night would not only put the Mets in great position moving forward.
