Ahead of today’s game against the Red Sox, the Mets have recalled Tyler Bashlor to join their bullpen. The move comes after the team optioned Corey Oswalt to the alternate site after last night’s loss to the Braves.
Bashlor appeared in 24 games for the Mets last year and was generally ineffective when he pitched. In 22.0 innings, he posted a 6.95 ERA, a 7.26 FIP, a 1.73 WHIP, and a -0.4 bWAR. He has struggled badly with the home run so far in his brief two-year career.
