With their three-game series in Cincinnati set to begin this evening, the Mets made several roster moves, calling up left-handed pitcher Anthony Banda and right-handed pitcher Stephen Nogosek, transferring right-handed pitcher Corey Oswalt to the 60-day injured list, optioning infielder Travis Blankenhorn to Triple-A Syracuse, and designating outfielder Johneshwy Fargas for assignment.
The moves come partly as the result of Jacob deGrom hitting the injured list, as the team played with just 25 players out of a maximum of 26 on its active roster yesterday. Banda was acquired by the Mets in a trade on July 2 and the 27-year-old has a 5.
