The New York Mets have called Gerson Bautista up from Triple-A Las Vegas to add some depth to a bullpen that has had a very strenuous week. In a corresponding move, the Mets have optioned infielder Luis Guillorme.
Bautista has had two previous stints with the Mets, each one lasting only about a week before he was sent back to the minors. In his time with the big league club, he has made five appearances, going 4.1 innings and giving up 6 earned runs on eight hits. On only one occasion was Bautista able to escape the game without giving up a run.
