Mets: Bobby Parnell reached 93 MPH during rehab outing on Tuesday

Bobby Parnell made another rehab appearance for High-A St. Lucie on Tuesday afternoon.

Parnell entered in the seventh inning with St. Lucie up 1-0, and proceeded to allow a run on two hits and two walks while striking out one in 2/3 of an inning.

According to Rob Brender of SNY, Parnell threw 25 pitches (11 strikes) while reaching 93 MPH with his fastball.

Parnell, who is still recovering from Tommy John surgery, has yet to pitch back-to-back outings for St. Lucie during his rehab assignment.

Terry Collins recently said that Bobby Parnell might eventually take over for closer Jeurys Familia when he returns, but quickly walked back those comments.
