Mets blow four-run lead as Cubs sweep four-game series at Wrigley

CHICAGO - In one afternoon at Wrigley Field, the Mets provided a summation of their season.

They raced out to an early lead, they got more than they could have expected from a skeleton crew, then they watched it all go south in a 6-5 loss to the Cubs that completed a four-game sweep by Chicago.

The got two homers from backup catcher Anthony Recker, a solo shot from embattled shortstop Wilmer Flores, and a clutch two-run single from reserve outfielder John Mayberry Jr. to break an 0-for-21 skid.

But after taking a 5-1 lead, the Mets let it all disappear.
