The Mets already are looking for a new manager. They could need a new bench coach, too.
The Red Sox, who fired Alex Cora last week after his role in the Astros’ sign-stealing scandal, have expressed interest in Hensley Meulens for their managerial opening, according to MLB Network. Meulens is also a candidate for the Mets job after they parted ways with Carlos Beltran.
Meulens spent the last 10 years on the Giants’ coaching staff under Bruce Bochy, winning three World Series titles, and made the move to the Mets thinking he would be Beltran’s bench coach.
