Mets arrive back at Citi Field after sweeping Cubs in NLCS

When the bus carrying the 2015 National League champions rolled into the Citi Field parking lot at 3:27 p.m. Thursday, the Flushing faithful were waiting for them.

Speaking to reporters and the several dozen fans that trekked to Citi Field to welcome home the Mets after they clinched a World Series berth in Chicago, David Wright expressed appreciation for all those New Yorkers who stood by the club through all those losing seasons since their last postseason appearance in 2006.

"I'm real proud of these guys behind me," the Mets captain said. "We're excited for this city, this fan base, this organization.
