LOS ANGELES — Jose Reyes’ season of peaks and valleys was near the top of the San Gabriel mountains on Tuesday.
The Mets shortstop was coming off the ninth multi-homer game of his career — against Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw no less — highlighting a 10-for-32 (.313) stretch in which he has given the team a dependable presence near the top of the lineup.
Overall, Reyes was batting .198 with six homers and 24 RBIs.
Reyes’ recent shift from third base to shortstop with Asdrubal Cabrera on the disabled list might be a factor in the surge, according to manager Terry Collins.
