With Jacob deGrom set to miss a start, the Mets considered right-hander Corey Oswalt to fill in Monday against the Reds in Cincinnati. Oswalt made sense. He had been up earlier this season, pitched 4 ²/u2083 innings. But then one of the Mets relievers in the bullpen could also get the call.
So naturally they decided to go with P.J. Conlon, who was summoned from Triple-A Las Vegas.
