Compared to their history, the Mets came out of their first series of the season in remarkable shape — only one new pitching injury. And it’s not yet clear the extent of reliever Anthony Swarzak’s sore left oblique.
The righty, who suffered the injury Saturday, was further evaluated Sunday. And he’s due for more tests, including an MRI exam Monday.
“I feel good,” Swarzak said optimistically but admitted he has no clue as to the extent of any damage. “I think it’s too early to tell. … I don’t know, but it’s cold out there today. I didn’t really feel too much of a difference, so maybe that’s good because it doesn’t feel worse.
