The Mets have announced their 26-man roster for the Wild Card round. Earlier today, Chris McShane theorized which players might make the cut, and now we have our answer ahead of the team’s best-of-three Wild Card series against the NL Central champion Brewers.
There were not too many surprises, as the Mets went with their core group of 13 starters and 13 relievers. The team will go with six outfielders (including J.D. Martinez, who will serve as the DH) and five infielders, as well as their two catchers. The one lingering question was whether Jesse Winker, who missed the past four games and seems to be dealing with back issues of his own, would make the roster, but he will also join the team in Milwaukee.
