The Mets announced the most recent group of players to be optioned or reassigned to minor league camp on Tuesday.
The most notable name was Tim Tebow, who put up an unusual, if unimpressive, .267/.389/.267 line over 18 plate appearances this Spring. Tebow has been reassigned along with fellow outfielder Rymer Liriano, infielders Dilson Herrera and Andrés Giménez, catcher Ali Sánchez, and RHP Arquimedes Caminero.
In addition, RHPs Paul Sewald and Jacob Rhame were optioned to minor league camp. Both were considered candidates for the last bullpen spot to start the year in Queens, but failed to turn heads this spring with Rhame in particular struggling significantly.
