Mets manager Carlos Mendoza announced this afternoon that Kodai Senga has a high-grade strain of his left calf, and the Mets’ ace is likely to miss the remainder of the regular season.
Senga spent the entirety of the season on the injured list leading up to his season debut last night against the Braves. After making four rehab starts in the minors, he returned and looked great—until his calf gave up during the sixth inning.
Whether or not Senga would be able to pitch in the playoffs—should the Mets clinch a postseason berth—remains to be seen.
