Whether Jacob Rhame intentionally threw at Rhys Hoskins late Tuesday night — it sure looked suspicious, twice — can’t be determined, barring an unlikely confession from the Mets reliever.
Here’s what can’t be denied, though: The Phillies’ clubhouse carried a markedly different vibe than if Rhame had simply struck out Hoskins to complete the 9-0 Mets victory at Citi Field. Instead of being frustrated with themselves after a terrible, all-around performance — replete with sloppy pitching, sloppy coaching, inept hitting and low energy — the visitors turned their anger toward the other side.
