The Mets are among the teams discussing a potential trade for Garrett Crochet with the White Sox, according to a report from Ken Rosenthal and Will Sammon of The Athletic. The report notes that the Mets and Yankees “are the most aggressive suitors” as of today.
The Mets have added Frankie Montas and Clay Holmes to their pitching staff and intend to use both as starting pitchers, but their rotation still needs at least one more arm. At the moment, Kodai Senga, David Peterson, Montas, Holmes, and one or both Paul Blackburn or Tylor Megill would figure to fill out a five- or six-man rotation.
