In an effort to bolster their bullpen, the Mets made two moves on Friday, striking a deal to keep the right-handed reliever Fernando Salas on the club and giving Tom Gorzelanny, a veteran left-handed pitcher, a minor-league contract. But neither move suggests that the Mets are done on that front.
The Mets, who acquired Salas in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels on Aug. 31, agreed to terms with him for a one-year, $3 million deal that includes $350,000 in performance bonuses, according to a person involved with the deal who did not want to discuss a contract that was not yet official.
