The Mets followed up two roster moves Thursday morning with a third this afternoon. The team claimed outfielder Aaron Altherr off waivers from the Giants, designating Tim Peterson for assignment in correspondence.
This comes just hours after Robinson Cano and Jeff McNeil were put on the injured list and the Mets called up Luis Guillorme and Ryan O’Rourke in response. The move evens out the number of position players on the roster.
The Mets are Altherr’s third team in a month. He came up with Philadelphia in 2014 and busted out in 2017, slashing .
