The Mets have activated Kelly Johnson and sent Ty Kelly to Triple-A Las Vegas to make room on the roster.
Johnson, 34, was acquired from the Braves on Wednesday in exchange for 23-year-old RH reliever prospect Akeel Morris, who was pitching with Double-A Binghamton.
Johnson was hitting just .215/.273/.289 with one home run and 10 RBIs in 49 games (132 plate appearances) for the Braves this season.
This is the second time in as many years the Mets have traded for Johnson during the season.
