The Mets have activated Jeurys Familia from the disabled list and optioned Jacob Rhame to Triple-A Las Vegas to make room for him on the roster. Familia had hit the disabled list earlier this month with right shoulder soreness.
In 29.0 innings over the course of 28 appearances this year, Famila has been very good. He has a 2.48 ERA and 2.29 FIP with a 27.5 percent strikeout rate and a 7.5 percent walk rate. If his shoulder is okay and he’s pitching like that, he gives the Mets a desperately-needed late-inning arm.
