NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) — The kid is staying.
Heading into Monday’s opener of a four-game series with visiting Colorado, there was speculation that outfielder Michael Cuddyer would be activated from the disabled list and the Mets would make room on the roster by sending down top prospect Michael Conforto.
Only part of that turned out to be true.
Cuddyer was activated following a three-week layoff due to a knee injury, but Conforto was penciled into the seventh spot in the lineup by manager Terry Collins.
Eric Campbell was sent to Triple-A Las Vegas instead.
