The Mets made a rather big move to help add more offense to what has been an excellent group over the past few months, reaching a deal with the rival Washington Nationals for left handed outfielder Jesse Winker.
Winker signed for just one year/$2m last offseason after a very down 2023 where he hit just .199/.320/.247 (65 wRC+) in 61 games. He reinvigorated his career in the nation’s capital this year, hitting .257/.374/.419 (127 wRC+) with 11 home runs on the campaign. Funnily enough, 14 of his 17 career steals have come this season, adding another element to the soon-to-be 31 year old’s game.
